February 2007 - ITFC Wedding Show 5
A big thank you to everyone who visited us at the ITFC Wedding Fair on Sunday Feb the 4th. A very busy day, again, both for our Discos and our new Venue Paint mood lighting system. Apolopgies to everyone who tried to get a quote from our website that Sunday evening. We had a very large number of visitors using the quote system and eventually the system becamed overwhelmed and got stuck. The quote system was up and running again from Monday the 5th so if you were unable to get a quote, you can now! |  |
January 2007 - Knebworth Wedding Show
The start of the new year saw us exhibiting for the first time at Knebworth Barns. A very busy day for our first apperance at this stunning venue. We also took our 100th booking for Venue Paint, our mood lighting system, in January since it's introduction in late April last year. We have a new range of Venue Paint products being launched this summer including mood lighting effects for tables. |  |
December 2006 - Weddings & Christmas Parties
December was a fantastic month (our busiest since our company's formation) We performed a record number of Wedding Discos for December which proves the growing popularity of tying the knot at Christmas. The coprorate event division of our company was also kept busy with 31 themed events for companies across East Anglia. From giant searchlights to gold glitter bombs, from red carpet to video walls - every event during December was completed to perfection. |  |
October 2006 - ITFC Wedding Show4
Back at Ipswich Town Football Club for the 4th show in a row! A very busy day with non stop brides through the doors for 5 hours straight. Our team were displaying stunning images of our Venue Paint moodlighting system via a giant plasma screen. A fantastic day for Venue Paint. Not only new bookings taken on the day but 5 existing customers adding Venue Paint to already existing disco bookings. October 2006 - Letchworth Wedding Show 2
Mid October saw our team back at the Spirella Building due the success of the first show back in March. Between 11am and 4pm we spoke to over 50 future brides tying the knot next year. We received more bookings than normal, again suggesting that 2007 is set to be a busy year for everyone involved in the wedding industry. |  |
September 2006 - Book Venue Paint Online
This month we pleased to announce another new feature of our website. You can now book a Venue Paint Mood Lighting System online, with your chosen disco package. This new feature (which speeds up booking) has enabled us to reduce the hire cost of Venue Paint. Systems now start at just £99 including Vat |  |
August 2006 - Back on the set of Tombraider
At the end of August we were back at Elveden Hall, Thetford. This time we lit the front of the building with white light and the giant oak trees with coloured light. Inside we used 16 Venue Paint uplighters to light the Marble Room beautifully in addition to a Gold package disco system complete with 2 metre high giant silk flame machines. We finished at 1.00am after another superb night in Elveden - So good, we are pleased to announce that we have been invited to provide the entertainment for the staff and management at Elveden Hall at their party this Christmas. |  |
July 2006 - On the set of Tombraider
July 2006 saw us working on the set of Tombraider at Elveden Hall, Thetford, on the Norfolk Suffolk border. On the day we provided a powerful sound system in a Church for the ceremony, then stripped out and re-installed the same system in the Marble Hall, within Elveden Hall, in time for the Wedding Breakfast & speeches. We then used a Venue Paint lighting system to light the marquee and provided a disco through to 1.00am. A great day and a fantastic evening. |  |
June 2006 - Blackjack in the Forest of Dean
In early June one of our teams travelled to the Forest of Dean. Performing at the Speech House, Coleford, the Bride and Groom had a great time dancing to all sorts of music. From Neil Diamond to Madness, Elvis to Black Eyed Peas... we played it all. Regardless of the fact that the venue was a 500 mile round trip from our Headquarters, our crew arrived exactly on time, started on time and finished on time. |  |
May 2006 - Blackjack at Usk Castle - Monmouthshire
Another Saturday with a Blackjack team travelling across the River Severn bridge! Usk Castle. A wonderful venue and yet another wonderful Wedding. A packed dance floor right up to midnight and another 500 mile round trip for our crew. Despite the distance we again, arrived exactly ontime. |  |
April - ITFC Wedding Show & Venue Paint Launch
A very successful day was had on Sunday April 2nd at the ITFC Wedding Show. This saw the launch of our brand new VENUE PAINT system. Over 150 brides attended the show and we also took a record number of disco bookings on the day. In addition, we also took 16 bookings for the VENUE PAINT lighting system. April 2006 - VENUE PAINT Lighting System Launched
Our brand new 'VENUE PAINT' LED lighting system is now in action. This new technology allows us to colour code your venue, function room or marquee to the exact colour and shade you wish. We can light doorways, pillars, stairs, paths, ceilings, stages, backdrops, statues, trees and other features of your chosen venue. The Venue Paint system can easy produce any colour in the spectrum. It can also be used to produce static colours during your meal, a slow chameleon like colour change as the evening starts, plus we can get your complete venue to change colour to the beat of the music once the disco is in full swing! |  |
March 2006 - Letchworth Wedding Show
Another great day was had at the Spirella Buidling in Letchworth Garden City, Herts. The Blackjack stand was kept busy all day. With the advantage of live internet at our stand we were able to send quotes straight to our customers. In addition to the Free balloons and glow sticks for the kids it was a successful show for all. We received disco bookings for 2007 which is now looking to be our busiest ever. | |
February 2006 - Interactive Text Service Launched
A great way to let you and your guests get interactive with our DJ’s. You and your guests can send text messages, dedications and music requests to our DJ on the night. It’s a great way to get your song on and anonymous messages are great fun for your guests. It’s also an ideal way of making the night ‘hands on’ and interactive. Texts are charged at just 50p each (plus std message rate) and a few days afterwards you will be sent a print out of all the texts sent at your event for you to view! |  |
January 2006 - Online Music Library Launched
A great feature of Blackjack Wedding Discos is our sites ability to allow our customers to compile their own playlist, quickly and easily - online. We have over 15,000 tracks and you can find your favourites in seconds. This site will save your list until you have finished choosing your ideal music. You can then send this list to our DJ for him to follow at the click of a mouse. October 2005 - Blackjack Move to New Premises
In November we moved to our new building as we had simply outgrown the last. With 1,500 sq ft. and great access to the local dual carriageway we now also have a dedicated customer area for clients to visit and find out more about what we do. August 2005 - Blackjack at Blenheim Palace - Oxford
In the summer of 2005 we performed our first disco at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire. The groom was a famous UK rally driver and the night was a great success. The Palace is very strict about allowing entertainers on site but this was not a problem for us as we are fully insured and only use PAT tested equipment. |  |
